Want to add meaning and new friendships to your life?
The Assistance League of Conejo Valley is comprised of concerned and committed women whose focus is to improve the lives of those less fortunate in their immediate community through their programs which include providing new school clothing to children in need; outfitting kids with backpacks filled with necessary school supplies, giving dictionaries to students, presenting a personal safety and awareness program to 3rd graders in area schools, and providing literacy training to help children improve reading and comprehension skills. In the past year the group was able to provide 1,200 children with new school clothing.
In addition, we provide emergency clothing to a shelter for survivors of abuse or trauma, clothing packs to hospital emergency rooms, and furry Casey bears to hospitals, fire stations and urgent care centers to be given to those who need comfort in their distress.
And on a lighter note, a new group of enthusiastic ukelele players visits senior facilities to serenade and visit with residents. There is truly a place for everyone to find the satisfaction of giving back. For further information visit our website www.alcv.net or contact Joni Flaherty at JoniFlaherty@aol.com.
